MARINETEK is one of the leading marina developers in the world offering
a wide range of pontoons and breakwaters as well as "turn-key"
marina solutions. MARINETEK operates through its representatives
and partners in over 25 countries.
The MARINETEK group completed several ambitious projects last year
including Grand Resort Porto Carras marina in Greece, Grand Harbour
marina in the historical centre of Malta, the most modern marina
in the Baltics, CUTTY SARK marina in Riga, Latvia, the biggest in
the world floating swimming pool and recreation complex in the centre
of Copenhagen and many others.
MARINETEK is a modern and dynamic company and, as part of its International
Marketing and Promotions Programme started an alliance in 2003 with
the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship - the most exciting
and technically sophisticated water sport series in the world.
The Class 1 powerboats are state-of-the art, combining leading edge
technology and are some of the fastest vessels that exist today
- capable of speeds in excess 250 km per hour. The catamaran shaped
hulls are 14 meters long, weigh 5 tons, with the majority powered
by twin Lamborghini 8.2litre, V12 engines producing 850 hp each.
Each boat has two super-licensed pilots to control them: a driver
and a throttle man - the modern gladiators of the sea.
Starting in 2003, MARINETEK acted as a supplier for the World Championship,
providing, whenever needed its floats for the race cranage area.
The safety and advanced technology of MARINETEK products were evaluated
and highly regarded by Class 1 specialists. For 2004 MARINETEK has
been granted the status of "Official Supplier" for the
UIM Class 1 World Championship.
MARINETEK has reached an agreement with I.O.T.A. (International
Offshore Team Association) for collaboration for at least the next
five years.
This year MARINETEK has prepared a special event for BOOT Düsseldorf
2004. On the MARINETEK stand (240 sq.m) together with MARINETEK
products we will promote the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship
and especially for Boot Düsseldorf 2004 we will have the 2003
World Championship winning powerboat - "Spirit of Norway"
- on display.
The boat will be exhibited at the stand along with a Lamborghini
engine and the pilot's gear. The MARINETEK pontoon (the same floats
are employed for the racing competition) will be used as a Hospitality
area devoted for meetings of Class 1 and MARINETEK people and
special guests.
The visitors to the MARINETEK stand will have a unique opportunity
to see a technological masterpiece in detail, to find out the
new Class 1 World Championship Calendar 2004 and to meet representatives
of 'Class 1', including pilots.
